Byron York: ’You paid for this…’
[Posted 10:05 AM by Stefan Beck]
By now you’ve probably read all about that academic study of conservative dementia (I’m not sure which word to put the scare quotes on, so I’ve judiciously left them out) published by the APA’s Psychological Bulletin. What may be news to you is that, as Byron York explains on NRO today, the study was funded in large part by federal grants.
Florida Republican Rep. Tom Feeney had this to say about the debacle:
Taxpayers shouldn’t be required to pay for these…If private universities, privately funded, want to study ridiculous hypotheses for political agendas, they have a right to do so, but when you are basically confiscating money from taxpayers to fund left-wing rhetoric and dress it up as scientific study, I think you have a real problem with credibility.
We’ve learned that conservatives are marked by, among other things, “lowered self-esteem”; “fear, anger, and aggression”; and “pessimism, disgust, and contempt…” Thanks, Doc. If it wasn’t true then, it sure is now.
