The TNC editorial staff is delighted to launch with this post an ongoing series titled “From the Archives of TNC.” On occasion, we will release from firewall lock-down some of the more compelling, curious, and diverting essays we’ve run over the years. We thought we’d kick things off with Eric Ormby’s excellent and seasonally appropriate “Waiting for the Golden Pig,” a yuletide letter from Prague that reflects on the city’s “stubborn love of custom and faithfulness to hard-won traditions” that keep it “firmly rooted to its ancient soil.” Enjoy!
A happy holiday to you all,
The Editors
