For thirty-five years The New Criterion has proudly defended civilized culture and intellectual life. It is truly humbling to know that, at a time when print publications are facing rapid decline in circulation and high failure rates, New Criterion readers return year after year, with fervor for the most incisive criticism being written today.
We are immensely proud that we have engendered a community of like-minded readers and writers these past three-and-a-half decades. We hope to be able to continue our mission for another at-least thirty-five years, but we won’t be able to do so without your continued support.
The support of our readers is what keeps The New Criterion afloat. This year, through your generous donations, we were able to undertake a beautiful website redesign, preserving the integrity of the magazine and translating it to the screen. The Friends and Young Friends of The New Criterion were able to enjoy many events and conferences, including art gallery tours, lectures by prominent speakers, book releases, and more. Our thirty-fifth season promises to be even more enthralling than past years, but we will only be able to achieve this with your support.
I turn to you now, at the end of our fiscal year, in the hope that you will consider assisting us in bringing the message of The New Criterion to the world. Our goal is to raise $393,000 by June 30. Contributions of any size keep the presses running, and are completely tax-deductible. All contributors will be recognized in our annual Friends Report.
