    David Dubal, an esteemed pianist, pedagogue, lecturer, New Criterion contributor, and writer on music history, is a household name among classical aficionados thanks to his nationally syndicated radio programs Reflections from the Keyboard and The Piano Matters. On October 24, David will present an exclusive version of his beloved “Piano Evening” salons for the magazine’s Friends. This intimate affair will feature a live performance by the celebrated pianist Cecile Licad of Chopin’s 24 Preludes, Op. 28, with commentary from David.

    Sixth Annual Circle Lecture

    Douglas Murray, a New Criterion Visiting Critic for the 2024–25 season, will join the magazine’s Circle of supporters for an evening reception and lecture in Manhattan on “The profundity of evil.” Douglas will draw upon his recent and sobering experience reporting on the ground in Israel in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks of October 7.
