Fourth Edmund Burke Award Gala

 

Statesman, theorist, and philosopher: The work of Edmund Burke (1729-1797) is as pertinent today is has ever been. Last year, celebrating our thirty-third season, The New Criterion honored Charles Murray with the third annual Edmund Burke Award for Service to Culture and Society. This year we are delighted to honor the distinguished writer Ayaan Hirsi Ali with the fourth iteration of the award. Please join us on April 21 as we celebrate her work at a gala dinner in New York City.

Young Friends Event: Gowanus Beat Nite

The editors invite the Young Friends to an insider tour of Brooklyn's art event of the season with James Panero. Produced by Jason Andrew and organized by the non-profit art gallery Norte Maar, Beat Nite is an evening gallery crawl featuring a special selection of ten alternative art spaces in Gowanus, Brooklyn. This year's incarnation will take place on Friday, October 16 from 6:30 to 10:30 PM.
