Stephen Baldwin of The Stephenhead writes in:
Many thanks to Mr. Kronstadt for pointing out my gross Herodotusian factual
error. In my defense, I can only assume that the Persian armies were dispatched via
an early form of US mail, hence the fifty year delay arriving at their
destination that Mr. Kronstadt refers to. Consequently, it was indeed King
Xerxes, and not Cyrus, who signed for that warlike parcel…. although I
will bet my last commemorative stamp that Xerxes was still using Cyrus’
account number!
Yours being wary of Greeks bearing ancient facts,
S. Baldwin.
