A knight in shining armor?

Wesley Clark is a vessel waiting to be filled by the hopes, dreams, and ambitions of a certain powerbase in the Democratic Party. But just what that powerbase might be, or what it hopes to gain through the general’s candidacy, may be understood at this time only by the Gary Kasparovs of political strategy, where plans are hatched not day by day but weeks, months, even years ahead.
At a party last night, one politico whispered in my ear a scenario whereby Clark is only the prelude–a diversion, someone to soften up the field. Hillary, meanwhile, musters her troops for a real march on Rome in January (taking Clark as VP). Now, all the books of Livy and Machiavelli cannot come close to rivaling the political acumen contained within a Clinton. But here are a few words of advice, whispered by a slave to his master: Respice post te, mortalem te esse memento.
