Feb 21, 2008 12:24 PM by You remember that black Columbia professor who, shortly after the much-hyped affair of the noose in Jena, Louisiana, found a noose tacked to her door? "It is an act of cowardice," Madonna Constantine told those who gathered at the obligatory and automatic "down with hatred" rally held after the incident. "I would like the perpetrator to know that I will not be silenced." "This is an assault on African Americans and therefore it is an assault on every one of us," Columbia president and Ahmadinejad host Lee Bollinger said in an official statement. "I know I speak on behalf of every member of our communities in condemning this horrible action." Rallies against hate, town meetings, protest marches, and the like are the sacramental rituals of the race-obsessed academic left, who simply cannot abide the fact that the overwhelming majority of their fellow Americans have simply gotten over the once-sticky issue of race. The general unconcern shown by most normal people about race disappoints these deluded pontificators in ivory towers, who (of course) know that race determines everything in America. The universities are the last major redoubts of racialism in the United States. I have to admit that, being somewhat acquainted with human nature in general and the political stunts of the academic left in particular, the moment I heard of this incident my very first thought was "she did it to herself." Teachers College at Columbia University have now admitted that Madonna "Will Not Be Silenced" Constantine repeatedly plagiarized the works of others in the course of her brave lack-of-silence. As The New York Times is reporting:
Dr. Constantine called the investigation “biased and flawed,” saying that it, coupled with “other incidents that have happened to me at Teachers College in recent months, point to a conspiracy and witch-hunt by certain current and former members of the Teachers College community.” Though I doubt any official statement will ever be made, I think it's now safe to relegate the "horrible" incident of the noose on the teacher's door to the increasing number of hate crime hoaxes in which the victim and the perp are one in the same. The NYPD have stated publicly that there is “an ongoing investigation” -- which I hope is the Boys-in-Blue's way of referring to a file that's fallen behind the filing cabinet and left to gather dust. At the very least, Miss Constantine's testimony must be regarded as somewhat less than credible.
